I am looking for a 4 cyclinger automatic x-cab. I haven't seen any for sale. Does the 6 cylinder get that much worse gas mileage than a 4? I've been told expect 16/22 for the v6. And 22/26 for the v4. Thanks a bunch in anvance! Steve

Thanks. I see on kelley blue book that the last year Ford made a 4 cylinder automatic x-cab was 2002. So I guess a 2000-2002. I want something with decent gas mileage; 20mpg or so which I guess excludes the V6. Any suggestions. My friend just bought a tacoma and is trying to steer me that way but I feel I owe Ford something since they were the only American car company who didn't take my tax money Thanks
i test drove a blue 09 x-cab automatic it had the 4cyl in it too... i live in washington so i dunno if you could check it out or not. but the only reason i didnt get it was the fact that it had no air conditioner in it. haha instead i picked up a 5 speed... it was an XL tho.. not an XLT here it is online http://www.soundford.com/inventoryD...14D39PA12353&total=14&pos=1¤t=2&size=10 i hope this helps!
Thats what I was wondering about. I believe the extended cab is around 600 lbs. heavier than the regular cab. Ford appartenly stopped making the 4 cyl x-cab in 2002 then starting up again in 2005. I've only seen 4 for sale in the past month. And about a million 6 cyl. Maybe there is a reason. I want decent gas mileage but probably not at the expense of driving another geo metro (thats my other car anyways).
Yea the power was lol it was just a little rainy out when i test drove it.. so i wanted to see how much giddy up it had and it was peelin out haha... and yea it was really nice. got up to speed fast on the freeway and everything i really liked it. but im young and thought it would be awesome to drive a manual haha which i do really like. but if that blue one had A/C i probably would have gotten that instead of my black one.
