i recently purchased a 2003 ranger edge RWD i placed 280 lbs of sand in the bed, with the snow and sleet falling in the area i was wondering what other helpful tricks are out there to have better control in the winter time

Nobody can get any traction in ice unless you run chains or spikes. Winter tires help a little in ice and possible airing your tires down lower than usual may help too I don't know. However the only place a 4X4 will help is in snow like 2"+ and that can be offroading or on the roads where the snow has not been cleared.
Yah i know that there still will be sliding in the winter but i was just looking to see about any other way to improve handling which i dont think there is any other way
