Hello Ranger forum. New member here. Joined to ask for help with this issue! My old Ranger is now a 2wd model, unfortunately. A mechanic told me that he thinks the issue is somewhere between the shift selector on the dash, and the shift motor on the transfer case. He said the repair would cost more than this old thing is worth :-( We use this only on the farm and only 1500 miles per year. Never sees pavement. I'm wondering if it's possible to take the shift motor off, shift the transfer case into High 4wd, and just leave it there?? Making this thing a "full time 4x4"? Thanks for any help/advice you can give!
